CHEMISTS AND PHARMACIES
In Spain you will get your medication at a pharmacy called farmacia which you can identify by a green cross. Chemists and pharmacists in Spain are very highly qualified and many people often visit the pharmacist to resolve minor medical problems.
Pharmacies in Spain are usually open from 9.30 am until 2 pm and from 5 pm until 9 pm from Monday to Saturday. In rural areas or smaller towns pharmacies might be closed on Saturday afternoon but even there as in bigger Spanish cities and tourist areas there will always be one duty pharmacy (farmacia de guardia) that is open 24 hours, also on Sundays and Holidays. As these duty pharmacies change every week you will find more information on it in every pharmacy and in most newspapers.
